E. QUESTIONS ABOUT TRAINING

1. How can I help new teachers at our church understand GraceLink?

  • Show them "GraceLink Training," available from AdventSource on video or CD-ROM. A participant guide accompanies this video. Be sure to stop the video as indicated and do the activities described in the guide. CAUTION: Read over the participant guide ahead. Do the training for parents too. Help them understand what is going on.
  • Take advantage of all the training materials on www.childmin.com. Sign up for the CHILDREN'S LEADER newsletter and stay abreast of the news.

2. Are there training events we can attend?
News of upcoming North American Division conventions is posted online. Flyers about North American Division or union training events are mailed to your church office. Also watch for news about training events offered by your local conference. Request the office secretary to forward such materials to you or to post them on the church bulletin board.

3. What if we cannot get to a convention?
The North American Division has developed a certification program for training of teachers and leaders. To get a certification brochure and a self-study guide, contact your local conference Children's Ministries department, call AdventSource at 800-328-0525, or click the link above. One helpful book for teaching children today is Children's Ministries: Ideas and Techniques that Work (AdventSource).
